Korean pop star Rain visits Queensland as tourism ambassador

K-pop sensation Rain launches intiative to get more Korean and Asian travellers to visit Oz. Tania Willis reports.

TV AND WEB RESTRICTIONS~**NONE**~ It's a destination best known for its sunshine, but Australia welcomed Korean popstar Rain during his visit as Queensland's tourism ambassador. The K-pop entertainer met Korean artist Choi Jeong Hwa whilst looking at his colourful installation 'The Mandala Flowers' at The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art. Over 80 artists have contributed to the exhibition which features the biggest collection of art from Australia, Asia and the Pacific at The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. MTV Award winner, Rain, has been selected as the official tourism ambassador for Queensland to launch QPop, an initiative to encourage more Korean and Asian travellers to book a holiday Down Under.
