Russian President Valdimir Putin has never looked this sweet. Using 70 kilograms of chocolate this life-size sculpture is carefully crafted by St. Petersburg sculptor Nikita Gusev. He says the dark confection suits the Russian leader. SOUNDBITE: Artist, Nikita Gusev, saying (Russian) "On one hand the chocolate is soft and malleable, on the other side it can be very hard. It is very flexible, it can take any form. I think this material really represents him because he is like that." The scuplture is the brainchild of Mikhail Lyubchenkov, the organiser of the city's Chocolate Festival. SOUNDBITE: Chocolate Festival Organiser, Mikhail Lyubchenkov, saying (Russian) "We decided to immortalise him in chocolate, to make such a sculpture. I want to add that last year we gave the pope a chocolate sculpture of himself. We thought, if the pope can have a chocolate sculpture why can't our president?" Lyubchenkov expects that this sculpture, along with a chocolate reincarnation of Putin's late dog Connie, will be the festival's main attraction. While chocolate President Putin is completely edibile, no touching, licking or biting is allowed, as that honor goes to the real president himself to whom they will offer the statue.
