ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took aim at Republican Presidential hopefuls' rhetoric about immigration, in an address to the National Immigrant Integration Conference. "We are hearing all kinds of anti-immigrant sentiment in the news right now," she said. "Candidates for President are calling immigrants drug runners and rapists, they promise if elected to round up and deport millions of people, build a mammoth wall, militarize the border, tear families apart," she said. "Amid after the terrorist shootings in San Bernardino, at a time when a lot of Americans are fearful about future attacks here at home, some candidates are even stoking those fears more, and turning people against Muslim Americans, saying some very hateful, hurtful things" she said. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States in the most dramatic response by a candidate yet to last week's shooting spree by two Muslims who the FBI said had been radicalized. "We have no choice," Trump said at a rally in South Carolina, warning of more Sept. 11-style attacks if stern measures are not taken. The former secretary of state has support from 56 percent of her party, versus 32 percent for Sanders, according to a 5-day rolling poll from Reuters/Ipsos dated Dec. 4. Clinton is hoping to build a broad coalition across her party, securing the Democratic nomination early and avoiding a potentially damaging primary fight.
