Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton vowed on Friday to take action to make prescription drugs used to treat life-threatening illnesses affordable. At a campaign rally in Rochester, New Hampshire, a man in the audience told the former first lady that he had been battling H-I-V for more than two decades, and that the drugs he needed cost $2600 each month. Clinton said drugs needed by those suffering from life-threatening illnesses such as H-I-V/AIDS and diabetes need to be affordable, and vowed to work on the problem if elected president. "The costs for medication, whether it's insulin for diabetes, or your H-I-V medication, that is absolutely essential for people's lives must be affordable," she told the crowd. Clinton is seeking to fend off an increasingly tough challenge from chief rival Bernie Sanders as next month's crucial New Hampshire primary approaches.
