In drought-battered Zimbabwe, a lavish birthday party is drawing criticism for President Robert Mugabe. The country's longtime leader turned 92 last week and celebrated with an $800,000 birthday party in Masvingo, the province hardest hit by the drought. Critics are calling the party an affront to ordinary Zimbabweans. Mugabe has previously said no one would starve as a result of the drought, which has left three million people in need and prompted a state of disaster in most rural areas. His country has appealed for nearly $1.6 billion in food aid... though he rejects any aid that comes with conditions that his country should accept gay rights. Africa's oldest leader, Mugabe has shown no intentions of stepping down.
