ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Story: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump received a tearful thank you Tuesday night from a woman who competed in one of his beauty pageants. Melissa Young, Miss Wisconsin USA 2005, came to a rally in Janesville, Wisconsin to thank him for a letter he sent to her when she was hospitalized. She also said that one of Trump's organizations has already set up a college fund for her son, who she said is a Mexican-American. When she mentioned the letter, Trump said, "I remember that," and went on to give Young a hug and a kiss. Trump owned all or part of the Miss USA pageant until 2015, when he sold it following a controversy over comments he made about Mexican immigrants to the U.S. The emotional moment came the same day that Trump's campaign manager was arrested and charged with battery for grabbing a female reporter at a rally in Florida earlier this month. It also comes just hours after Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker endorsed rival candidate Senator Ted Cruz in the state's primary, which is April 5. Wisconsin polls, though scarce, show Trump and Cruz running neck-and-neck in the state. A recent Emerson poll showed Cruz taking 36 percent and Trump with 35 percent. Ohio Governor John Kasich lagged in third place, with 19 percent.
