The news that Republican presidential candidates John Kasich and Ted Cruz are teaming up against rival Donald Trump... ...may be drawing scorn from some. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING: "It shows how weak they are. It shows how pathetic they are." But at a Kasich rally in Rockville, Maryland, many voters are giving it a thumbs up. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOHN KASICH SUPPORTER AND DEMOCRAT, HEATHER SIEFFERS, SAYING: "That's politics baby. That's, you do what you have to do." (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOHN KASICH SUPPORTER, JACK MARTIN, SAYING: "Whatever has to be done to stop Trump. You know?" In an unusual tactic, Cruz and Kasich have agreed not to compete against each other in the upcoming primary elections in Indiana, New Mexico and Oregon. The goal? Blocking Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegate total he needs to become the Republican nominee for president. But not all Kasich supporters are on board. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOHN KASICH SUPPORTER, LISA COLTER, SAYING: "Well, I'm sort of torn because I definitely do not like Trump or Cruz but I also don't like people back getting together taking away votes from what the people want." With Trump striving to wrap up the nomination BEFORE the party's convention in July... Cruz and Kasich are hoping their plan will pay off.
