Two elite U.S. jets crash in separate locations, one dead

A Blue Angels pilot is dead after crashing during a practice exercise in Tennessee. The pilot of a separate Thunderbirds jet ejected and survived after the aircraft went down in Colorado, following a flyover for the graduation ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Gavino Garay reports.

U.S. President Barack Obama meets with the Thunderbirds pilot who ejected before his jet crashed following a ceremonial flyover for the Air Force Academy graduation in Colorado. Obama had given the commencement speech at the graduation. The White House says Obama expressed relief that he was not seriously hurt, and thanked the pilot for his service. Meanwhile in Tennessee, the pilot of an F/A-18 from the Navy's Blue Angels squadron died after crashing just southeast of Nashville. The Blue Angels were rehearsing for a weekend air show.
