EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: RESENDING STORY WITH UPDATED INFORMATION Police are calling this an ambush... They say at least one sniper killed five police officers in Dallas and wounded seven more. This coordinated attack, as police are calling it, happened while people here -- and across the country -- protested the killing of two black men by police this week in Louisiana and Minnesota. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "What we do know is that there has been a vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement." President Barack Obama, while traveling in Poland, said there is no possible justification for these acts of violence against law enforcement. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "The FBI is already in touch with the Dallas police and anyone involved in these senseless murders will be held fully accountable. Justice will be done." Police say they took three people into custody... and the fourth suspect exchanged gunfire with officers during a standoff at a downtown garage. That suspected has reportedly died. The city's downtown is now a sprawling crime scene, as fellow police officers and family members grieve. Ten-year-old Hunter McBride visited her mother in a hospital, where she is being treated for gunshot wounds. (SOUNDBITE) (English) HUNTER MCBRIDE, SAYING: "I'm just glad that she's alive, really." A small breathe of relief, among one of the worst mass shootings of police in U.S. history.
