Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Friday that he had settled on Indiana Governor Mike Pence to serve his vice presidential running mate. It is a pick that could help unify a divided party behind Trump's White House bid. Trump, making his announcement on Twitter, said he would hold a news conference at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday. He had originally planned on making the announcement Friday but delayed it because of the attacks in France. The two Republicans spent time this month testing their chemistry at the governor's residence in Indiana. The Republican governor is seen as a safe choice. He is popular among conservatives and could help rally more party faithful behind Trump.
