ROUGH CUT - NATURAL (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The Olympic torch relay passed through Brazil's largest metropolis, Sao Paulo, on Sunday (July 24), where it was met with some scuffles and protests beyond the adoring crowds. Giant human mobiles hanging over the streets with gymnasts in the Olympic rings and a vertical percussion troupe gave reason to Sao Paulo's reputation as Brazil's capital for culture and innovation. Underneath, huge crowds ran with the torch, appreciating the unique moment for Brazil as the first South American nation to host the Games. For others, however, the relay provided a platform to address another important moment in the South American nation, as suspended President Dilma Rousseff faces impeachment proceedings in what her supporters are calling a coup d'etat led by interim president Michel Temer. A man was arrested on Saturday (July 23) morning as he lurched towards the Olympic torch in Guarulhos in Sao Paulo state. The man, who has not been identified, reportedly tried to grab the torch and attacked a member of the National Security Forces. He was wrestled to the ground by relay wardens and security officials. After the man was removed from the area the relay continued as normal, snaking its way ever closer to Rio de Janeiro for the August 5 Opening Ceremony. The torch is expected to arrive to the host city on August 4.
