Navigating a broken open street in Aleppo. A man -- in despair -- screams about Syrian President Bashar Al- Assad: "This is Bashar -- You want to support Bashar? This is a call to all the supporters who left to Turkey -- this is Bashar. Look at what he is doing, you criminal." This is the aftermath after rebel factions clashed with pro government forces. People take joy in mere survival -- as a boy is pulled from the rubble. Against this relentless backdrop, the UN aid chief is pushing for a 48 hour humanitarian pause in the fighting to allow food and other aid to enter the city. The fear is food will run out in east Aleppo by the middle of next month -- with few signs of peace on the horizon.
