ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION). Story: Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland told delegates at the Democratic National Convention that Hillary Clinton would work hard to break barriers as president, as Mikulski nominated Clinton to be the first woman presidential candidate by a major U.S, political party. Rep. John Lewis of Georgia seconded the nomination, allowing delegates to begin casting votes on her candidacy. Many are casting votes for rival candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders. The nomination comes as party officials try to heal rifts between supporters of Clinton and those who backed rival Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.
