Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, speaking to a group of supporters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Wednesday, accused U.S. President Barack Obama of being the "founder" of the Islamic State group, typically referred to as "ISIS." "You know, they honor President Obama. ISIS is honoring President Obama. He is the founder of ISIS. He's the founder of ISIS," Trump said. The presidential nominee then accused his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, of being its "co-founder. Trump, a New York businessman, is seeking to reset his campaign after a series of missteps that included a prolonged clash with the parents of fallen Muslim American Army Captain Humayun Khan and a comment about the Second Amendment that sparked a torrent of criticism on social media that he was effectively calling for Clinton's assassination.
