ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday (August 28) that Trump's stance on immigration has not changed and that he's said "if you want to be here legally, you have to apply to be here legally." "We all learned in kindergarten to stand in line and wait our turn and he is not talking about a deportation but he's talking about being fair and humane," Conway said. "Nobody enforces the law the way he wants to enforce the law. So he obviously would work with law enforcement, immigration, the immigration agencies. We have ICE, we have agencies that already exist that are meant to be doing this already." Trump tweeted on Saturday the shooting death of a cousin of NBA star Dwyane Wade affirmed his campaign comments about violence in minority communities and highlighted why black voters would support him in November. Trump's Twitter message came a day after Nykea Aldridge, a 32-year-old mother of four, was shot in the head and arm by crossfire in Chicago while pushing a baby in a stroller, police said. Trump's tweet drew immediate and widespread criticism as insensitive and opportunist, although hours later, Trump also offered a second, more somber comment on Twitter offering condolences to Wade and his family over the death of Aldridge. "He tweeted his condolences to the family right after that and I would like everybody to know about both tweets," Conway said. Face the Nation host John Dickerson asked Conway to clarify the first tweet. "Look I know the media live on Twitter but most Americans see what he does on a weekly basis, which is, he gives policy position speeches," she said. Trump, who relishes revving up crowds with off-the-cuff remarks, drew criticism for comments insulting women, Muslims and Mexican immigrants during the primary campaign for the Republican nomination.
