ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Britain will leave the European Union and restore its sovereignty, the minister responsible for negotiating Britain's exit from the European Union said on Monday , vowing there would be no delay and no second referendum. "The prime minister has made clear, there will be no attempt to stay in the EU by the back door," David Davis told parliament. "No attempt to delay, frustrate or thwart the will of the British people, no attempt to engineer a second referendum because some people didn't like the first answer," he added. He said Britain would trigger article 50, the beginning of the formal process for leaving the EU in due course. British voters decided in June to leave the EU and the government has come under pressure from the opposition Labour Party and other countries to clarify how it intends to exit the bloc and rebuild its trade ties.
