ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION STORY: Former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore, a prominent climate activist, called his meeting on Monday (December 05) with President-elect Donald Trump, who has dismissed man-made climate change in the past, "extremely interesting". Gore said in a recent interview that U.S. greenhouse gas emissions are likely to fall irrespective of the pro-coal policies of Trump, who he said may still surprise the world by embracing global action to limit climate change. The former Vice-President met with Trump at Trump Tower in New York. "The bulk of the time was with President-elect Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued. And I'm just going to leave it at that," said Gore after the meeting. Gore will lead a 24-hour televised marathon on Dec. 5-6 about global efforts to limit rising temperatures. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Gore said Trump's policies would "take us toward a climate catastrophe." Trump has dismissed the idea of man-made climate change as a hoax but told the New York Times on Nov. 22 that he had an "open mind" on the Paris Agreement, softening past opposition.
