U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on Wednesday telecom giant Sprint and satellite company OneWeb will bring 8,000 jobs to the United States. Both companies followed up stating the positions are part of Japanese SoftBank's plan announced earlier this month. That plan is to invest $50 billion and create 50,000 jobs in the United States. As part of it, Sprint is adding 5,000 jobs in sales and customer service by the end of its fiscal year ending in March 2018. And OneWeb is creating almost 3,000 jobs at the company and its suppliers. SoftBank holds stakes in both firms. Shares of Sprint were higher in early trading on Thursday.
