An outburst of deadly violence at this Canadian mosque. At least five dead and several wounded by a hail of gunfire during evening prayers, according to the president of the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center. Police tell Reuters two people have been arrested in connection with the shotoing. An eyewitness said they saw at least three gunmen firing on about 40 people before heavily armed tactical police stormed the mosque. Quebec police on Twitter say the situation is now under control and the mosque has been completely evacuated. Islamaphobic incidents like this have increased in Quebec over the past few year amid a debate over banning Muslim face coverings. In June last year a pig's head was left on the doorstep of the Quebec City center. And in neighboring Ontario, a mosque was set on fire in November 2015, a day after the deadly string of bomb blasts and shootings in Paris.
