U.S. President Donald Trump said tax code revisions will boost the nation's economy. He said this during a White House meeting with chief executives of Target, Best Buy, and six other major retailers. The group came to the White House to encourage Trump to overhaul the corporate tax code and slash their rates. They also hope to convince him to oppose a proposed border tax on imported goods. That tax is part of a new plan coming from the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. Convincing Trump to oppose it would probably kill it. In the past, Trump has called the House tax proposal "too complicated." But he also said a border tax on goods from Mexico is one way to pay for a wall he vows to build along the nation's southern border. Trump is working on his own tax plan that he plans to unveil in the coming weeks. *** David Selby of Schafer Condon Carter (SOUNDBITE) DAVID SELBY, MANAGING PARTNER, PRESIDENT AT SCHAFER CONDON CARTER, (ENGLISH) SAYING:
