ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. Greenpeace took to the water on Thursday (February 16), sailing to demonstrate for more protection against climate change at the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Bonn. The environmental organisation flew a banner reading "Planet Earth First" on board the Beluga II, a tongue-in-cheek response to United States President Donald Trump's "America First" slogan. Police vehicles were stationed along the shore to keep protesters from accessing land and setting up signs in protest. All G20 nations signed up for a 2015 Paris Agreement aimed at phasing out greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels between 2050 and 2100 and shifting to cleaner energies to avert heat waves, floods, droughts and rising ocean levels.
