After Malta's iconic tourist site the Azure Window collapsed into the sea this week, vanishing under the weight of heavy storms, the Maltese government on Thursday announcing plans for an international initiative to somehow recreate the famed rock formation. If you're wondering why a tiny island nation in the middle of the Mediterranean would go to such lengths, then you're probably not A) a Maltese tourism official B) sentimental about rocks or C) a 'Game of Thrones' fan. The Azure Window - a top site in country whose economy is driven by tourism - also serving as a back-drop for the hit HBO series. Movie buffs may even remember it from for 1981's 'Clash of the Titans' with Laurence Olivier. Officials on Thursday offering a number of options in its place, including an artificial recreation or even a digital augmented reality version.
