Hundreds of protesters have swarmed outside the Dutch Embassy in Ankara, where Turkish authorities have sealed off the facilities amid a growing diplomatic dispute. The dispute comes as President Tayyip Erdogan looks to Turks living abroad who can help him win a referendum next month granting him new powers. In Rotterdam, roughly 2,000 pro-Erdogan supporters gathered outside the Turkish consulate where the foreign minister was due to speak. But the Dutch government banned Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolgu from even landing in the country. He instead landed in France where he's due to give a speech on Sunday. In response, Erdogan branded the Netherlands a "Nazi remnant" and Cavusoglu threatened economic and political sanctions, which Dutch officials said would make finding a solution impossible. Dutch officials later detained and deported Turkey's family minister to Germany, while riot police intervened in Rotterdam, taking tensions between the two countries to new levels.
