(SOUNDBITE) (English) PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT, RODRIGO DUTERTE, SAYING: "I welcome both developments. They can do their worst and I can do better in my performance as a worker in government, period. This is a democracy" The Philippine President welcoming an impeachment complaint filed against him Saturday (March 18) Rodrigo Duterte is also facing a possible suit at the International Criminal Court. His comments come after opposition lawmakers filed impeachment raps on Thursday (March 16), the first under Duterte's eight-month presidency. In that time, the controversial leader has been linked to alleged extra-judicial killings of thousands of suspected drug addicts under his ongoing anti-narcotics campaign. Police report more than 2,000 people have been killed in anti-drug police operations and around 4,000 gunned down by unknown vigilantes. Duterte's government has repeatedly denied involvement in any illegal killings.
