(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Peruvian President, Pedro Pablo Kuczynksi, visited the coastal city of Trujillo on Tuesday (March 21) where heavy flooding has caused serious damage amid nationwide downpours which have left at least 78 dead this year. After surveying the area from a helicopter of the Peruvian Air Force, Kuczynski said the priorities were to restore the Panamerica Norte highway and the Chavimochic Canal which provides water to the city and to nearby plantations where diverse exports are produced. According to official figures, left 101,104 people have been left homeless, 263 injured and 20 disappeared in Peru due to flooding since December 2016, as the El Nino phenomenon causes unusual warming in Pacific waters and erratic weather patterns.
