Trump pulls healthcare bill

U.S. President Donald Trump and Republican leaders pulled legislation to overhaul the U.S. healthcare system. Fred Katayama reports.

President Donald Trump asked the U.S. House leaders to cancel the healthcare bill vote last minute on Friday afternoon. Earlier in the day, Republicans told Trump they weren't able to amass enough votes to pass the legislation. It was supposed to overhaul former President Barack Obama's signature domestic policy achievement, the 2010 Affordable Care Act dubbed Obamacare. U.S. stocks pared losses on the news. A & G Capital's chief investment officer Hilary Kramer. (SOUNDBITE) HILARY KRAMER, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER, A&G CAPITAL, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "We're going continue to coast, and, what will happen is, the markets now just looking forward to earnings, first-quarter earnings, to see what happens there." Repealing and replacing Obamacare was a top campaign promise by Trump in the 2016 presidential election. On Friday, Trump said he is going to come back to the healthcare bill, but not in the near future.
