Opposition demonstrations more solemn in Asuncion after the death of a protester who was shot with a rubber bullet by police. Rosanna Philpott reports

Even before they could clean away the blood stains, a vigil for the protestor killed by police in Paraguay, in this corridor at the Liberal party headquarters. CCTV footage shows 25 year old Rodrigo Quintana running from a police raid, and the moment he was hit by a rubber bullet. His death came amid violent overnight clashes on Friday. Sparked by a secret Senate vote to overturn Paraguay's one-term presidency rule, which would allow President Horacio Cartes to run for re-election. Protesters setting fire to Paraguay's Congress. They're siding with presidential opponents who say the vote was illegal. They claim it would weaken the country's democratic institutions. Four police officers have been fired, along with the police chief and interior minister/ On Saturday Cartes posting a video on social media saying he deeply regrets the cost of the violence. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) PARAGUAYAN PRESIDENT, HORACIO CARTES, SAYING: "I criticize myself because us politicians still have not been able to settle our differences in peace, with dialogue." Several politicians and journalists were injured, and police say around 200 protesters were detained. More activists were seen arriving in Asuncion on Saturday, setting the scene for yet more protests.
