ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended an Easter Mass lead by Patriarch Kirill on Saturday (April 15) at Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral. Easter marks the eve of Christ's resurrection, and the end of Lent, a fasting period for orthodox Christians. Believers then treat themselves to Easter cakes, called "kulichi"and eggs that have been forbidden for months. On Saturday night orthodox churches and cathedrals around the world ushered in Easter with solemn ceremonies. But before that, orthodox Christians have their Easter cakes, and decorated eggs, which are blessed by a priest.
