Speaking at the annual Ntional Peace Officers' Memorial service, Trump says it is his personal priority to make sure police are 'treated fairly, with honor and respect.' Trump welcomed law enforcement officials to the Oval Office ahead of the service outside the U.S. Capitol. He said 118 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty last year and that violent attacks against them were on the rise. Trump then signed a law enforcement proclamation that asked the Justice Department to devise a strategy to prevent and prosecute such attacks.
