ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Democrats are seeking to force a House vote on an independent commission to investigate Trump-Russia ties during the 2016 election. Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee says the argument for an independent counsel is 'quite profound.' A small but growing number of Republican U.S. lawmakers also called on Wednesday for an independent probe of possible collusion between President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia, spurred by a memo from the fired FBI chief that Trump had sought to impede the agency's investigation.
