With calm waters under their boards, Americans Aimee Spector, Cynthia Aguilar and Karen Kim are preparing for the paddleboarding experience of a lifetime. (SOUNDBITE) (English) AMERICAN LEADING PADDLE BOARD RECORD, CYNTHIA AGUILAR, SAYING: "We will be the first three girl relay to ever even paddle from Cuba, on land, finishing in Key West on land." Starting in Havana's Hemingway Marina on Thursday, Spector took off first in what the three athletes hope will set a new Guinness record for the longest non-stop paddle as a three-girl relay team. They estimate crossing the Florida straits should take between 20 and 25 hours. (SOUNDBITE) (English) AMERICAN PARTICIPATING IN PADDLEBOARD RECORD, AIMEE SPECTOR, SAYING: "I think the hardest part is just the fatigue. It's going to take us about 24 hours so paddling all through the night, having those challenges of staying focused and staying energized, I know that we can do it but that's probably our biggest challenge." A challenge that they will have to paddle through until they reach the U.S. on Friday.
