Three Palestinians killed after attacking Israeli officers

Israeli authorities say they've found no evidence of Islamic State involvement in attacks by three Palestinians that killed an Israeli policewoman, despite the group's claim of responsibility. Kate King reports.

Jerusalem's Damascus Gate is often the scene of violence. Simultaneous attacks on Friday saw a Palestinian stab a border police officer to death, while two others attacked a group of Israeli police officers with guns and knives - wounding one. .(SOUNDBITE) (English) JERUSALEM'S MAYOR, NIR BARKAT, SAYING: "If you look at terror attacks around the world, that sometimes takes hours or many minutes this terror attack took, the first incident it was two scenes, the first took few seconds, the second took one to two minutes, very very quickly it was over and the three terrorists are killed Islamic State said it was behind the assault, the first time it's claimed an attack in Israeli-occupied territory. But Israeli authorities say they've found no evidence of a link. Hamas, the faction which rules the nearby Gaza strip, also dismissing the claim - saying the attackers were affiliated with them. A wave of Palestinian street attacks began in October 2015. At least 252 Palestinians, 42 Israelis and one Jordanian citizen have been killed since.
