Surging Arizona flash flood leaves at least nine dead

At least nine people are dead after being caught in a flash flood in an Arizona river, after heavy bouts of rain. No reporter narration.

(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) A flash flood north of Payson near the Cold Springs swimming hole killed seven people and left three more missing Saturday afternoon. Gila County Sheriff's Office said that a total of seven bodies were recovered by Sunday morning and agencies are still searching for three more people. Sgt. David Horning of GCSO said that two of the dead are children. According to the GCSO, deputies responded to a search and rescue call around 3 p.m. after heavy rains caused flash flooding in the area. GCSO said a family of 14 people were swimming in the area and were swept away in the flash flood. Multiple agencies responded to aid in search and rescue efforts. Seven individuals were found deceased and four were rescued. Agencies are still looking for three missing people. GCSO said in a press release that First Crossing and Second Crossing on Houston Mesa.
