New coming-of-age film 'The Only Living Boy in New York' premiered in Manhattan on Monday. The movie stars the British duo of Callum Turner and Kate Beckinsale. Turner plays Thomas Webb, a recent college grad who begins a relationship with his father's mistress....played by Beckinsale. The British actress said the film's shown up how society focuses on 'mistresses' rather than the man who's cheating. (Soundbite) Actress, Kate Beckinsale, saying (English): "Right, he's the one that's married though. So that's one of the other things I found just socially quite interesting is that everyone's asking me about, 'oh, what's it like playing this woman?' They're never asking Pierce what's it like playing a man who's cheating on his wife, because that's almost somehow given. So that's been quite interesting." Jeff Bridges also stars in the film and said he could see some similarities with Dustin Hoffman classic 'The Graduate'. 'Sex and The City's' Cynthia Nixon also appears.... She's rumoured to be eyeing a run for Governor of New York... But she was cagey about that when asked on the red carpet. (Soundbite) Actress, Cynthia Nixon, saying (English): "Well, yes, I really can't say much about it." (REPORTER QUESTION): "Have you ever thought about a career in politics?" "People have talked to me about it, people have talked to me before. So, yes." It may take some time before Nixon's political ambitions are clear... In the meantime - U.S. fans can see her show off her acting talents when 'The Only Living Boy in New York' is released on August 11th.
