Ever since Disney announced they were making three spin-off Star Wars films, rumors have been rife that one of those would focus on the trilogy's original Jedi, Obi Wan Kenobi. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has added fuel to the fire after announcing that director Stephen Daldry is in talks to helm the film, although Disney declined to comment on the article. The role of the brown-cloaked and bearded mentor to both Luke and Anakin Skywalker has been played in the past by the late Alec Guinness in the original trilogy and Ewan McGregor in the prequels. The Hollywood Reporter, however, wrote that there is no script and therefore no actor is attached. No release date has been put forward either, so fans will just have to make do with the upcoming 'The Last Jedi' out in December and the as-yet untitled Han Solo film which is due out in May 2018.
