ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. Spanish police on Monday (August 21) removed several butane gas cylinders that were found in the remains of a house in Alcanar, which is believed to be the base of the group that carried out the attacks in Barcelona on Thursday (August 17). Police believe the group opted to launch attacks using vehicles when their base in Alcanar, southwest of Barcelona, was destroyed in an explosion on Wednesday (August 16). Police suspect the explosion foiled the cell's plans to carry out one or more large-scale bombings in Barcelona. More than 100 butane gas cylinders were found in the remains of the house. Authorities are looking for Younes Abouyaaqoub, 22, who they believe was behind the wheel of a van which left a trail of dead and injured on Barcelona's famed boulevard. The Catalan regional government said all European police forces were now searching for Abouyaaqoub and authorities could not rule out that he had slipped across the border into France.
