Malaysia's Axiata to buy tower assets in Pakistan for $940 mln

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Malaysian telecommunications group Axiata Group Bhd said it was partnering with Pakistani conglomerate Dawood Hercules Corp Ltd to buy communications towers in the South Asian country for $940 million.

Axiata’s telecommunications infrastructure services unit, edotco, and Dawood Hercules will buy 13,000 towers from Pakistan Mobile Communications Ltd, the Malaysian firm said in a statement. (Reporting by A. Ananthalakshmi; Editing by Christopher Cushing)
