Nestle buys controlling stake in Blue Bottle Coffee

LONDON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Nestle has bought a majority stake in Blue Bottle Coffee, as it steps into the upmarket coffee shop market.

The Swiss maker of Nescafe instant coffee and Nespresso announced the stake purchase on Thursday without disclosing financial terms.

The world’s biggest coffee company said California-based Blue Bottle would continue to operate as a standalone entity.
