Brazil posts current account deficit of $3.4 bln in July

SAO PAULO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Brazil posted a current account deficit of $3.4 billion in July, central bank data showed on Wednesday, slightly wider than the median analyst estimate of $3.2 billion in a Reuters poll.

The reading bucked a trend of four straight months of surplus, including a $1.33 billion surplus in June. The country attracted $4.1 billion in foreign direct investments in July, below a median forecast of $5 billion. (Reporting by Bruno Federowski; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
