Brazil's Meirelles says gov't may take in BNDES funds

BRASILIA, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Brazilian state development bank BNDES may transfer funds to the government to help cover underwhelming fiscal revenues, Finance Minister Henrique Meirelles said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters in Brasília, Meirelles said that option, which would follow a 100 billion real ($31.7 billion) late last year, was one of several fiscal measures under discussion. A BNDES director on Monday said talks have been going on for a long time but a precise amount has yet to be decided on.
