BRIEF-India cenbank allows foreign investors to invest in treasury bills

May 1 (Reuters) - Reserve Bank of India :

* FPIS ARE PERMITTED TO INVEST IN TREASURY BILLS ISSUED BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

* SECURITIES WITH RESIDUAL MATURITY OF LESS THAN 1 YEAR WILL BE RECKONED FOR 20 PERCENT LIMIT, REGARDLESS OF MATURITY OF SECURITY AT TIME OF PURCHASE

* FPI TO BRING SHARE BELOW 20% IN 6 MONTHS IF INVESTMENTS IN SECURITIES WITH LESS THAN 1 YEAR RESIDUAL MATURITY IS MORE THAN 20% OF TOTAL INVESTMENT

* IF NON-RESIDENT ENTITY HAS SET UP FIVE FUNDS TOTAL INVESTMENT BY THE FIVE FPIS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR CONCENTRATION AND OTHER LIMITS

* IMPLEMENTATION DATE OF ONLINE MONITORING OF UTILIZATION OF G-SEC LIMITS HAS BEEN SET AS JUNE 1, 2018 Source text - bit.ly/2FtPVnP
