BRIEF-India Cenbank Eases Foreign Investment Limit In Bonds For 2018-19

* INDIA CENBANK: REVISES INVESTMENT LIMIT BY FOREIGN PORTFOLIO INVESTORS (FPI) IN GOVERNMENT SECURITIES

* INDIA CENBANK - THE LIMIT FOR FPI INVESTMENT IN CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SECURITIES (G-SECS) WOULD BE INCREASED BY 0.5 PCT EACH YEAR TO 5.5 PCT OF OUTSTANDING STOCK OF SECURITIES IN 2018-19

* INDIA CENBANK - LIMIT FOR FPI INVESTMENT IN CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SECURITIES WOULD BE INCREASED TO 6 PCT OF OUTSTANDING STOCK OF SECURITIES IN 2019-20

* INDIA CENBANK - THE LIMIT FOR FPI INVESTMENT IN STATE DEVELOPMENT LOANS (SDLS) WOULD REMAIN UNCHANGED AT 2 PCT OF OUTSTANDING STOCK OF SECURITIES

* INDIA CENBANK - OVERALL LIMIT FOR FPI INVESTMENT IN CORPORATE BONDS WILL BE FIXED AT 9 PCT OF OUTSTANDING STOCK OF CORPORATE BONDS

* INDIA CENBANK - ALL EXISTING SUB-CATEGORIES UNDER CORPORATE BONDS WILL BE DISCONTINUED, THERE WOULD BE A SINGLE LIMIT FOR FPI INVESTMENT IN ALL TYPE OF CORPORATE BONDS

* INDIA CENBANK - NO FRESH ALLOCATION HAS BEEN MADE TO THE ‘LONG-TERM’ SUB-CATEGORY UNDER SDLS

* INDIA CENBANK - OUT OF THE EXISTING LIMIT OF 136 BLN RUPEES FOR LONG-TERM SUB-CATEGORY UNDER SDLS, 65 BLN RUPEES TRANSFERRED TO G-SECS

* INDIA CENBANK - ALLOCATION OF INCREASE IN G-SEC LIMIT OVER THE TWO SUB-CATEGORIES – GENERAL AND LONG-TERM - REMAINS AT 25:75

* INDIA CENBANK SAYS BASED ON AN ASSESSMENT OF INVESTMENT INTEREST, THIS RATIO HAS BEEN RE-SET AT 50:50 FOR 2018-19
