* INDIA’S ADANI GROUP - SUPREME COURT RESTORES ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE TO ADANI HAZIRA PORT PVT LTD Source text for Eikon: [‘The Hon’ble Supreme Court has set aside the direction in the order dated 8.1.2016 passed by National Green Tribunal (NGT) against Adani Hazira Port Pvt. Ltd. (AHPPL) cancelling the Environmental Clearance dated 3.5.2013, thereby the Environmental Clearance dated 3.5.2013 granted by MoEF to AHPPL stands restored. The Court has also ordered the return of Rs.25 Cr to AHPPL which was deposited with the Collector, Surat with interest accrued thereon. In the Appeal it was contended that NGT failed to appreciate the facts and no reasons were given which supported the order.
