Delay Brexit if needed to avoid no-deal crash -German economy minister

BERLIN, April 2 (Reuters) - Germany’s Economy Minister said Britain’s departure from the European Union should be delayed if necessary to avoid the “big crash” of a disorderly Brexit.

Peter Altmaier, a close confidant of Chancellor Angela Merkel, told Bild newspaper in an interview that thousands of jobs were at stake, though Germany was well prepared to weather the adverse effects if Britain did leave without a deal.
