German govt declines to speculate when asked about possible Brexit extension

BERLIN, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Asked whether Britain should get an extension for the Brexit deadline beyond March 29, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said on Friday that was a hypothetical question and he would not get involved in speculation.

The spokesman said it was up to the British government to ensure that the Brexit deal passed parliament. (Reporting by Hans-Edzard Busemann Writing by Michelle Martin Editing by Thomas Seythal)
