Factbox: China ramps up investment in airports to spur economic growth

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has been ramping up investment in airport projects since late 2018 to improve transport connectivity and spur domestic demand, as the world’s second-biggest economy slowed amid a prolonged trade war with the United States.

China aims to build more than 500 general aviation airports by 2020, according to the State Council, or cabinet.
