Colombia central bank decision was backed by 4 of 7 board members

BOGOTA, Aug 31 (Reuters) - The decision by Colombia’s central bank board to lower the benchmark interest rate to 5.25 percent was backed by four of seven members, the bank said on Thursday.

Two of the remaining members voted to reduce the rate by 50 basis points, while the final policymaker voted to hold the rate. (Reporting by Bogota newsroom)
