Bank of Italy's Visco urges ECB to aim for transparency in top ranks - FT

Dec 18 (Reuters) - The European Central Bank should improve its handling of dissent in its top ranks by holding regular monetary policy votes and publishing individual opinions, Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco said in an interview with the Financial Times.

"In this strategic review, we also have to decide how we should try to accept dissent," Visco told in an interview published on.ft.com/34xEyaW on Wednesday.

“I think we should aim for transparency as much as possible and if that means making clear the dissent or different positions of the members, personally I don’t have much to say against it,” he added. (Reporting by Kanishka Singh in Bengaluru, Editing by Sherry Jacob-Phillips)
