Ethiopia says its forces pushing towards Tigrayan capital

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Ethiopian forces are moving forward and closing in on the capital of Tigray region where they have been fighting a two-week offensive against rebellious local rulers, the government said on Thursday.

A statement from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s task force for the Tigray conflict added that the government plans to bring back refugees who have fled to Sudan and was sending missions to the northern region to assess humanitarian needs.
