German stocks - Factors to watch on August 25

FRANKFURT, Aug 25 (Reuters) - The DAX top-30 index looked set to open 0.2 percent higher on Friday, according to premarket data from brokerage Lang & Schwarz at 0610 GMT.

The following are some of the factors that may move German stocks:

ADIDAS

Indicated 1.4 percent lower

The German sportswear company’s chief Kasper Rorsted damped expectations for the medium term after a record 2017, according to an interview in Friday’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The outlook for 2020 is still in place, he said. But he added: “There will be years that are better and years that are worse.”

LUFTHANSA

Indicated 0.2 percent higher

Moody’s upgraded the German carrier to Baa3 with a stable outlook.

VOLKSWAGEN

Indicated 0.1 percent higher

The German auto giant and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have held discussions on joining up to produce some light-utility vehicles, a source close to the matter said on Thursday.

AIRBUS

No indication available in Frankfurt

The first Airbus A380 superjumbo to fly passengers almost a decade ago has been taken out of service by Singapore Airlines , highlighting a debate over the future of the world’s largest airliners.

FRAPORT

Indicated 0.2 percent higher

The group expects passenger growth of close to 5 percent this year, Chief Executive Stefan Schulte told Focus magazine in an interview.

STADA

Indicated 3.6 percent higher

The generic drug maker said on Thursday that Paul Singer, founder of activist investors Elliott, held nearly 10 percent of the generic drugmaker following a recent private equity buyout.

OVERSEAS STOCK MARKETS

Dow Jones -0.1 pct, S&P 500 -0.2 pct, Nasdaq -0.1 pct at Thursday’s close.

Nikkei +0.5 pct, Shanghai stocks +1.6 pct.

GERMAN ECONOMIC DATA

German detailed Q2 GDP figures confirmed at +0.6 pct q/q, +0.8 pct y/y.

German July import prices -0.4 pct m/m, +1.9 pct y/y. Rtrs poll was for unchanged m/m, +2.4 pct y/y.
